Upmarket features are now appearing on mass-market car models.

It is difficult to identify what separates an expensive car from a cheap one, but one typically knows it when they see it. Upmarket cars are known for sleek lines, high-quality interiors, exclusive paint shades, and details like the grille or LED lighting. These features used to be found only on cars costing $80,000 or more, but they are increasingly appearing on mass-market models.

This trend means shoppers can find a car that looks expensive without the matching price tag, whether buying new or used. Several models now offer this combination of style and affordability.

Zeekr 7X: A Modern Electric Look

It features a sleek, minimalist design with frameless windows, concealed door handles, and a streamlined lighting signature. The styling comes from Zeekr’s Design Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Zeekr’s Vice President of Global Design, Stefan Sielaff, led the project. This background helps explain the car’s premium feel. The Zeekr 7X has a price range of $57,900 to $72,900 before on-road costs, depending on the trim level.

Skoda Superb Wagon: Timeless European Style

The Skoda Superb wagon offers a classic European design at a competitive price. It is made in the Czech Republic and remains a popular option as other brands introduce new wagons. A new Superb wagon starts at $66,990 drive-away. Used models can be found closer to $50,000, making them an affordable way to get a premium-looking vehicle.

GWM Tank 500: Luxe Off-Roading on a Budget

It offers a similar presence to a Toyota LandCruiser Prado but without the six-figure price tag. A top-of-the-line Tank 500 costs about the same as an entry-level Prado.

The vehicle has a kitted-out interior and powerful yet economical powertrain options. It is built to provide a lot of car for the money. The design is rugged and substantial, giving it a commanding presence on the road. The GWM Tank 500 is priced from $63,990 to $79,990 before on-road costs, with various diesel and hybrid options available.

Range Rover: Used Luxury Icons

A 10-year-old Range Rover offers a classic luxury feel at a lower price point. The vehicle has a reputation for looking more distinguished as it ages. This makes it a popular choice for buyers seeking an upscale image. The price range for used models is $30,000 to $70,000 before on-road costs.
