The 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is the latest iteration of the supercharged halo-spec Mustang, building on the legacy of its predecessors, including the departed Cobra. Despite the name change, the Dark Horse SC draws a straight line to the Cobra, with the underlying S650 Mustang chassis evolving from the S550, which debuted as a 2015 model.
The S650 chassis has given rise to various high-performance Mustang variants, including the Bullitt, Mach 1, GT350, and the 760-horsepower GT500. The Dark Horse SC picks up where the GT500 left off, featuring a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that produces 795 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque.
Performance Upgrades
The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and an electronically controlled Torsen limited-slip rear differential.
