Lucid, a California startup, has set a new world record for its vehicle-to-load feature in the Gravity SUV, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records book.
The electric SUV’s built-in household outlets powered an online DJ session that lasted over eight hours, achieved in partnership with Saudi Arabian electronic music duo Dish Dash.
Lucid’s EVs are known for their impressive charging speeds, driving range, and speed, but the company’s first model, the Air sedan, lacked a key feature – vehicle-to-load, or V2L, which allows owners to export energy from the battery pack to power tools, appliances, or music equipment.
The Gravity SUV has three regular household outlets that can provide a combined 1.8 kilowatts, scoring the new Guinness World Record for the American-made electric SUV.
A total of 61 DJs participated in the online DJ session, with each spending eight minutes at the mixing table, and the session lasted just over eight hours, earning Lucid and Dish Dash the record certificate for “The most people in an online DJ mixing video relay.”
While this record may not be something that Gravity owners will use in their daily lives, it highlights the benefits of having household outlets in an EV, making a significant difference in certain situations, such as during natural disasters.
For example, the Ford F-150 Lightning’s Pro Power OnBoard feature has been used to keep the lights on in affected areas after natural disasters, delivering up to 9.6 kW through its multiple 120- and 240-volt outlets, which is more than what some houses need on a daily basis.

Lucid’s achievement demonstrates the growing importance of vehicle-to-load capability in EVs, and as the technology continues to evolve, they can expect to see more practical applications of this feature in the future.
